John Field provided consultancy to source and provide the chrome mannequins and style them into one of the cinematic vignettes in the exhibition "In America: An Anthology of Fashion". Envisioned by Tom Ford, the installation commemorates the “Battle of Versailles,” a historic 1973 event that saw American designers pitched against established French fashion houses. The mannequins were arranged to resemble a martial arts scene, displaying garments from the event (or from concurrent runway presentations) in the Vanderlyn Panorama at the American Wing of The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
